Beautiful sight and campground. The only thing missing was water access.

Nice campground. It's not an in-the-woods feel, there are lots of campsites. Good for kids, nice to ride bikes around. There were no issues with noise or lights.
We were in Loop E. We went by Loop D because we'd seen other reviews and those had a nice view of the reservoir. Loop E did not, but it was still pretty.
I'd read some warning reviews about the dirt road road coming in and it was not bad at all, maybe a mile of gravel. It rained while we were there and there were no problems with mud.

Prospector is an annual trip for our family. Amazing views of the 10 Miles and Gore Range, ready access to Lake Dillon for paddleboarding, bike trails, etc. No water on site this summer is hard, we were noticed well in advance, but itβs hard regardless.

Comparing Prospector to Peak One and Lowry, we liked Peak One and are very happy we did not stay at Lowry. Prospector is the best.

Nice campground, clean bathrooms, good location. The water was not working anywhere in the campground which was a bit inconvenient and it would be nice if the washboard dirt road was better maintained. We have been camping for over 40 years and have never met better campground hosts. They always were available, they were always helpful and they always smiled and seemed to be enjoying their work. Other people in the campground also noticed these hosts and commented how great they were. People like them really do make a difference in how enjoyable a stay is. May I give them an 11?

Gorgeous, well-maintained campsite, and there were absolutely zero mosquitoes--miraculous! It's a little exposed, as most of the trees are young, but it was cloudy on our weekend, so it worked out. Otherwise, you might want a canopy of some sort. It's within a 15-minute drive to the Dillon Res put-in for man-powered crafts, which is even more beautiful! Be sure to bring your lifejackets, they patrol. We'll definitely be back.

Love this campground with beautiful views and convenient to town but no way to fill with water and no rv dump. Camp host minimally involved. Other campers hooting & hollering after midnight.

Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday. |
