Beautiful campground and the camp host is wonderful. There was no water though.

Overall my family and I had a very good experience at Prospector Campgrounds. Views from our site were beautiful, our site was well kept and had the ammenities expected, the vault commodes were some of the cleanest and well maintained I've had to use.
My only complaints would be how close the site are to each other and that there werent stated "quiet hours" (shouldn't need them, but people can be, unfortunately, rude) we stayed a Thursday night and Friday night; when all the other campers showed up Friday we were so close to our neighbors we could hear entire drunken conversations into the late hours. Unfortunately, it took away from our serene surroundings that we had so enjoyed the night before. Spacing out the sites more might be an easy fix for noise on busy weekends.
It's a perfect campsite for midweek or off season, just be prepared for it to be busy on a nice weekend.

Overall, the advantages of this campground are the fantastic views of the surrounding area mountains and proximity to several great mountain towns. The pull-through site we had was easy to level our RV. In general, we like this campground better than Lowry (nearly across the highway). If you want a good place to camp with easy access to Keystone, Dillon, Silverthorne, Frisco and Breckenridge, it's hard to beat.

10 days in site 14 - we will surely try to reserve this site again next year. The views are great and there are small pines between you and the next site over. There is plenty of space between this site and the next loop too. The campground hosts are efficient and seems they are always tending to the rest rooms and managing the high turnover of the camp sites. We ate out many times during this trip, here are our suggestions: Cofa @ the cove (coffee, bagles, etc); Last Chance Pizza - also in the cove. Blue Market in Silverthorne, tried the Empanadas, Crepes (Savory & Sweet) and the fish tacos.

Incredible mountain and lake views, large campsites with lots of trees, and the cleanest vault toilets Iβve ever experienced! Such a beautiful natural area to enjoy while being close to Dillon, Frisco, and Breckinridge for conveniences and other fun.

I love Prospector campground. Have been coming for years. Nice sites. A bit busy on weekends, but is close to Denver, and such a nice place, so makes sense.

For me, the major asset for Prospector is that it is "away". Away from any towns, traffic, noise, and people. The views I received when I stepped out of my RV were spectacular. The beauty didn't just last during daylight hours either. Being that you're distanced from any commerce, there isn't any invasions of extraneous light which enable the night sky to seemingly explode with brilliant stars. I was on an eight day travel vacation, staying in a different location each evening, and I must say, without question, Prospector Campground was by far my favorite out of the eight.

Easy pull-in, shady mornings and gorgeous views! Fun short (15-20 minute) hiking trail down to the lake beach. Close to Breckenridge & Frisco if needed. Numerous hiking trails in the area.

Beautiful views and easily accessible from Swan Mountain road. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Sites were a little close to each other but still felt private due to the abundant pine trees. Visited in Mid-September, it was below freezing at night but warmed up quickly after sunrise.

HUGE campsites with plenty of privacy and room to run for the kiddos. Clean pit toilets. Unfortunately the water was out when we were there (we knew ahead of time, but had booked these campsites because there *was* supposed to be water). Beautiful surroundings, with an easy little hike down to the reservoir.

Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday. |
| General |
Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day. |
