About Prospector

At an elevation of 9,000 feet, Prospector Campground is in the heart of Summit County in the White River National Forest. The sites offer open views to Dillon Reservoir and several mountain ranges, an ideal setting for guests seeking recreation and relaxation. 4

A decent campground. The trails down to Lake Dillon are really steep. There is a dump station nearby at the Upper Blue Sanitation District site further down Swan Mountain road towards Breckinridge for $5. There was potable water for RV filling.

5

We had the most amazing site, view over the lake and mountains and it was huge. Clean vault toilet.
The only negative was that there were two guys oposite who were playing their music loudly, can't understand why such people camp in this kind of nature campground.
Oh, and the road in was the worst ever!

Go to spot for everything the Rocky Mountain life has to offer. Quick destination from Denver, modern benefits with views and the constant reminder you are in a nature bigger than you. Campground is therefore very popular with both locals and tourists. Locals find weekdays more pleasurable on vacation and tourists dominate the prime weather season July.
