This was the Fall shoulder season and the Campground was virtually empty..Nice level site with electricity, picnic table snd grill. Restroom and showers nearby. Signage to sites was lacking, but a great Campground.

Very nice campground, clean and well maintained. They don't have any directional signs so that you can find your campsite easily... guess they assume you have been there before.

During hot weather, the 50 Amp breakers are necessary for larger RVs. It was nice to be able to reserve a larger site near the water with 50 Amp.

I stayed at site 10 at Canning Creek in late July, 2023. The site was pretty and there were good roads leading there. The camping pad was a little tight to park in. I really liked the covered picnic area. My biggest complaint is the lack of lake access at this site. Rip rap prevented safe access to swim or launch a kayak.

Very nice camp ground. This spot has a great view of the lake with access for kayaking and paddle boards. It was level and had a concrete pad with plenty of space for our small camper. Overall, the campground has well maintained sites. Ours was one of the better ones. Some sites in this camp ground are fairly rough but still cleans and accessible. When booking, we noticed the area we were in was booked solid. Oddly, once there it was pretty sparse with only a few campers. Some of the booked sites had small blue tents on them. Not sure if this was the parks way of making them unavailable. It was a bit frustrating as the sites next to us that had the tents had no people there for the entire time and they had even better views and better lake access. Overall, this camp ground is well maintained and clean. It was quiet and peaceful. Would have liked to see the ranger and the host out more for safety and visual presence. However, we had no issues where we needed them. Would recommend and we will return.

Nice park to stay at with good views of the Lake. The dogs running around loose is not good. Several aggressive dogs came into our campsite towards our dogs. WE were not able to take our trash to the trash can either one night since one camper had their dogs on very long cables to were they were able to "protect" the trash cans. There is no park attendant in park. They post a number you can call or call the Sheriff if you have a problem. So if you have noisy neighbors or other issues you have to deal with them yourself.

We LOVE this lake and Canning Creek is where we stay. Site 35 is by far one of our favorite's it has a great view, easy to get to the water and is very level for our 5th wheel. We have stayed in the coves and enjoy them as well. If you're thinking about coming to Council Grove Lake DO IT! You won't be disappointed with the lake or the city. speaking of the city of Council Grove the people are super friendly and there are some great things to see and learn from and in the town.

Love the Canning Creek area. #18 can get very hot in the afternoon with no shade blocking the hot west sun. Right next to the boat ramp, which can get very busy. As with any spot in the area don’t forget to take your trash and any food in as you’ll have a family of raccoons visiting during the night who will help themselves. Rocky area for swimming, don’t forget water shoes!
