The campground is very nice with tall trees, one of the best campground we ever stayed at. The campground is only steps away from the trail head to the Grinnell Glacier Trail. It is also no to far from the Many Glacier Hotel, a very grand, rustic establishment.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

The reservation process for ascertaining a campsite was very frustrating this year. Initially, dates after Sept 6th were not reservable. As in prior years, they appeared to be first come first serve. On March 2 or 3, all campsites after September 6 were listed as available to reserve. This was done without informing individuals who planned on extending their stay, as in prior years, who had made a reservation to arrive between Aug 25 through Sept 1. There were obvious gaps in communication and coordination between the NPS administration overseeing the Many Glacier Campground and Recreation.gov. Non-generator sites were expanded this year. However, campground maps existed online in March that showed the long-standing non-generator sites.
Due to staffing shortages, there were no showers.
Parking lots filled early many days.

Fantastic location with close clean bathrooms. Everything was wonderful in spite of the lack of shower facilities. Close to many hiking trails.

It was phenomenal. Loved the campsite, Ranger led walk, Ranger talk at the historic Many Glacier Hotel, hike to Red Rock Falls with a couple of ladies who let me tag along and completely welcomed and included me in the whole experience. The falls were astounding beautiful with the lake below and peaks all around. Saw a moose and her yearling at Fish Lake at dusk on way back. Kayaked a couple hours all around Many Glacier Lake - peaceful, picturesque and inspiring. I’d go again in a heartbeat.

Excellent campgrounds- very clean and they have made it very easy to follow the rules, lots of storage for food/cooking items. This is car camping- so other sites nearby but everyone is respectful- or exhausted after some of the 11-15mile hikes. The Rangers are also very helpful. There are several hikes that leave from the area (Grinnel Glacier- a must, especially if you leave early in the morning, seeing the sunrise from one perspective on Lake Swiftcurrent and then Lake Josephine- before heading up.) Others include Ptarmigan tunnel, Iceberg lake and just around Swiftcurrent. A quick walk over to the Many Glacier Hotel- see the historic inn- have a huckleberry beer or coffee on the patio and enjoy the view. It’s also a good base for the St. Mary area- really not too far. We even had a moose walk through the site.

Campsite #88 was really nice. I could hear the sound of the stream at night. The campsites were spaced apart with vegetation between sites to allow for privacy. I would definitely stay at this campsite again. The restrooms were clean.
