It’s staggeringly beautiful. Like shockingly so. We were there for soggy (snow/rain) mornings and that part was to be expected and fine. The disappointing part is the lack of dedicated bear boxes per camp site (especially since there are so many bears!) and no dishwashing station (just a place to dump your bucket you do your dishes in.
I would still go back, but I think those two improvements would be great

Many Glacier campground is an awesome place to stay for some amazing views within the park. The campsite itself wasn’t much, but the location more than makes up for that.

Awesome stay, but getting reservations is like winning the lottery. Do your homework.

Site 45 is 10 ft from a restroom - which can be good or bad depending on your needs. The noise from the hand dryers can be annoying at certain times. The grill has been broken off the fire ring at this site and is missing. Showers are available at the store next to the campground. Many trailheads within walking distance.

We camped in site 87 at the end of June and WOW! It was perfect. It's a pull-through site and had just enough shade to keep our small 20' camper cool but also provided multiple sunny spots for our solar suitcase to charge our batteries quickly. There is a fresh water pump across from the site which came in handy. The restrooms are a short walk (2 campsites down the road) and were very clean. Site 87 seems a little more spacious as it's at the end of a "loop", the last site before the "generator free" zone, so only closer neighbors on one side. Gorgeous, unobstructed mountain view, and a little path from our site to the river where we saw moose. Easy, quick walk to the Swiftcurrent store and cafe. There were paid showers available via the store, but we did not use them. Quick walk to the trailhead that accesses many different hikes. We walked to Fishercap Lake in the mornings and evenings and watched moose. We missed a grizzly bear at Fishercap by about 30 minutes, so, just a reminder to always carry bear spray. The rangers were friendly and helpful. The dump station was easy to access just before you came into the campground.

The water was difficult to get as half of the fixtures were broken. But I understand this will be fixed this fall. We love the beauty and wildlife here

One of the best campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at! Very well maintained, great base camp for hiking, bathrooms with flush toilets. Also must try the soft serve at the shop.

I am lucky to get a campsite here because it's very hard to get one, even in the late season. Beautiful setting and convenient to all activities. In late season of mid September, so no other services such as stores, pay-shower from near by hotel/lodge.

The park rangers were not changing the reservation slips for the camp sites. Our reserved site was occupied and the owners of the trailer were out hiking (Indiana plate RV R461HF). They showed up late afternoon and claimed they did not understand the checkout process, which is leave by noon and is clearly stated on the reservation. According to the reservation slip still on the post for the site it had not been updated since September 28. We had reserved the site for 3 nights September 29 - October 1st. We decided to double up with our friends on their campsite for two nights and then headed for home since they had only reserved their site for two nights. Some campers claimed they had been told the sites were first come first serve. We went to Two Medicine the next week-end and there were similar problems with the reservation process. Some campers being told it was first come first serve when the website reservation.gov states reservation only.

The Campground itself is beautiful. Centrally located for hiking and sightseeing. Actually saw a bull moose on one of the trails. The reason this place gets two stars is for the ridiculous reservation system, especially for so late in the year. The single greatest issue that prevents us from visiting the NP's more is the reservation system and the fact that so many people make reservations then don't bother to cancel their reservation so, on paper, this and other campgrounds will be "full" but in actuality are , maybe, 50% full. Such was the case with Many Glaciers in very late September. Were it not for the awesome rangers we would have had to go boondock or go all the way back to St.Mary. The 6 month rolling reservations window might be one of the dumbest things going in the NP's. So much life happens in six months that is it's little wonder someone who makes a reservation in February might- just might- have something that pops up that prevents them from traveling in August, or, in our case, someone who books in March might have something come up before September and they just don't think about, or care about canceling their reservation so someone else who is actually there at the Campground in the flesh can use the site. The other ridiculous thing about the end of season reservations is the inability to make a same day reservation. I mean, what!, why? That is just plain nonsensical. So, this Campground was 50% empty on a Monday because of the unoccupied but reserved campsites, but I couldn't book on a Monday, even though I was there in person, and would have had to go find somewhere else to go for the night before returning the next day for my reservation? Again, had it not been for the awesome Rangers fitting us into a long past their reservation window site, this would have happened to us. This system needs to be changed, NPS. Shorten the window to 8 weeks, & charge a place holder fee. $20 to book, the rest is charged on arrival. Makes total sense. Do better!
