Many Glacier is a magical place! Wildlife, rugged mountain vistas, so many hikes, and a great campground. We went in the primitive season and it was most definitely primitive. Bring everything you might need as there are no amenities! There are also no crowds. We will def be back!

The campground is nice, but 1 pit toilet for all the camp when it’s primitif it’s not enough, 2 would be OK. + some sites at not level at all, not OK. + you have absolutely no service so you can’t reserve an additional night, in October you have so many sites available, you don’t really need to reserve so it would be nice to be first come first serve or something like that. The localisation is perfect for hiking.

I’ve done a lot in my life but this place is by far one of the highlight of my life. Exept for a few things. When people make a reservation a not cancel and just let the site go to waste when a lot of others would gladly take it last minute is super lame!!!! I would leave my site at 5 in the morning and see 10 empty sites unused and that was just in my row. There has to be a better way. Bring back the freest come first serf sites. At least some. Oh and let people have the pass code for the internet so we don’t have to drive all the way to Babb to see if a site is available. Don’t change the sites them selves. They are perfect the way they are. And don’t change the store and cabins it’s perfect the way it is. Quaint, small, intimate. Feels like the old days when thing were simpler. Thanks

The checkin process was a little wonky because we were there in September and really couldn't find anyone. Once we figured that out we were good to go. Great camping with easy access to the trails. Starlink worked well at our site but not sure that will be true for all.

A bigger campground with bigger sites for groups and bigger RVs. The hiking trailheads are within walking distance of any campsite so you don't have to worry about parking.

Its a very nice campground within Glacier National Park, but the campsites are very close together. They were doing some construction and most of the bathrooms were closed.

Beautiful park. Campsites book up fast, but many remain vacant due to people not showing up.

We arrived (9/14-9/18) knowing we were staying outside the peak season, but was surprised that pretty much everything was shut down in the area. I understand the seasonality of the Glacier area, but weather was great and there were loads of people and cars accessing the area. Hiking trailheads were packed with cars and all lots were full and many, many vehicles were parked along roadside. Seemed surprising that all facilities were shut down. Hotels were closed, boats and cruises done, and campsites shower and amenities were limited. No firewood, no cell service (which was fine), and no showers.
That said, the area is spectacular with great hikes and amazing views. We stayed in the campground, which was a miracle to actually get online reservations given the 4 day before reservation window. Many Campground specifies only 1 vehicle per campsite, but we found that as long as your vehicles fit in the boundaries of your drive access, more than 1 vehicle is allowed. Not knowing that, we eventually secured a second site for a few of the later days, but then couldn't cancel once we got there due to no cell service. We were able to notify the camp host and after a day found a "buyer" for our extra site, though there was a wasted day/night the campsite was empty. That seemed to be the case for many sites in the campground that were empty, even though people were constantly asking the host for availability.
Howerver, my biggest complaint would be the road access to the area. Crazy there is a stretch of poorly maintained dirt/gravel road into this very busy area. Traffic was especially busy morning and evening. Road was rough and very dusty and rocks were flying from tires going both ways. I heard this was the way it is going to be for future, which I don't know if true, but it's a shame the NPS can't do better here. I know, outdoor experience etc., but this is a major access area, not some backroad trailhead.

Didnt even get to stay here because the road in was so poor and unmaintained that I had to turn the rv around after just a mile of the dirt road and leave. Extremely disappointing that the NPS cant at least grade out a road to make it passable.
