Going in early May has its advantages and disadvantages. While you have a larger choice of camp spots, and more isolation, the weather will be a challenge as Montana springs can be cold, snowy, rainy, windy. Be prepared to entertain yourself inside if need be. But that's what makes Montana so wonderful! Beautiful lake and area. Fishing was great. Camp hosts terrific. No potable water while we were there due to waiting for results from well tests.

Beautiful campground w/ numerous attributes. Clean facilities. Our site #5 was difficult to level our RV as the site had a serious slope. All of the generator useage was disturbing but we understand is now the norm. We'll be back!

The number of generators was astonishing. Almost 1/3 of the sites ran a generator during the day . I was under the impression camping sites were to be peaceful and quiet. Some of the generators were running 70 dbs or more, that is loud! I am not against generators but they should be limited to 55 dbs at max run not idling. You got to do something about this. It is ruining the idea of camping.

Water was on the 1st day we arrived then they turned it off for the rest of our 7 day stay without being notified. Happened to see an email after the fact. Camp hosts should have told people. Also camphosts never came thru campground at 10pm to see that folks turned off generators so had to listen to some guys run all night every night. Plus not opening fishing cleaning station anymore is ridiculous. We have been coming for 15 yrs twice a yr. This is the worst time we have had. Plus now charging $25 night for no amenities or a camp host that goes around and checks things. Grass isn't mowed anymore either. Just kinda sad that it is changing so much!

Winter cold weather had froze some of the water pipes in the rv park and the water was turned off for repairs. It took several days for a crew to arrive and make the repairs. Site 23 still has a Hugh Bolder intentionally placed in the backup path making it more difficult to back a rv into the site. The bolder should be moved to prevent campers from accidentally hitting it while backing up their vehicle.
