Everyone at the front gate was so friendly. They helped with directions to trails and making last minute reservations when I wanted to stay longer. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. And the sites were very level and clean as well. I will definitely be coming back.

We rented the double site for tents and it was HUGE. Plenty of space for mine and my friends 2 family size tents and 5 vehicles and we had lots of space leftover! Staff is very friendly and the clean, heated bathrooms/showers were a blessing in the cold November weather. I love that the camp sites are spaced out well so privacy is surprisingly good. There are hiking trails within less than a 2 minute drive, hard times trail being one of them and a hiking path around the lake. Everything was simple and easy to navigate including trash disposal, bear lockers, bathrooms, rules etc. 100% recommend coming here for a relaxing camping trip!

Peaceful campground. Helpful and friendly check-in. Excellent access to Blue Ridge Parkway and all Asheville has to offer.

Unfortunately, it was only a stop over, 1 night, on my way back to Illinois. However, this was my 3rd time camping there and wouldn't camp anywhere else in the area. From the gate attendant to the maintenance people, everyone, was exceptional and friendly. Even better are the wooded campsites…so beautiful! Every site had privacy and surrounded by forest. To sum up in one word…lovely.
