Amazing campground! The staff was super helpful and the campground itself is beautiful! It has a ton of trails inside the campground and multiple trails just outside of it as well. Will definitely be coming back in the future!

Enjoyed our short five day stay at a full-hookup site. We did not use the showers but they looked very clean and well kept. Lake is a short walk away. We took walks/hikes on two easier well marked trails. Any needed supplies are available in nearby Asheville. If in the area again, will definitely look into staying again.

Love the abundant trees and the hilly natural setting. A quiet, back to nature experience.

A beautiful park with full hook up RV sites. Very close proximity to the NC Arboretum (right next door)! Bathrooms & showers are well-maintained. Hiking/biking trails are very good. My only complaint is that kayaks are not allowed on the lake.

Beautiful park with excellent staff. My only suggestion is that it would be nice if they would allow canoes and kayaks on the lake. This is our 3rd stay at Lake Powhatan CG and the trailheads leading to the CG have small parking areas which are always filled. Be on the lookout for the many bikers and hikers who park along the shoulders of the road.

This is an amazing little park. You think you're driving almost through the middle of Asheville, you turn on a little 2 lane road, drive a couple of miles, and suddenly, you're deep in the heart of the forest. Every site is wooded with plenty of space, the bathhouses are clean, hiking trails everywhere, a little lake for fishing, swimming or boating. Drive 10 minutes at most and you've got great restaurants, places to shop; anything you'd want to do in the city. It's a fantastic place to camp!
