It was, fun kids got to run around on their own as we felt it was safe for them. We saw a waterfall and we biked and hiked it was amazing 🤩

Super cold in early March I recommend bringing a heater!
This trip was so unbelievably worth it. There's greenery in Lake Powhatan, unlike where I'm from in Northern Illinois. The lake was absolutely stunning. It was even more beautiful to stare at in the nighttime.
The bathrooms are heated and great quality!

Beautiful area with miles of mountain biking/hiking trails and forest roads. Easy jaunt to NC Arboretum which is remarkable. Nice camping spot within the trees for some privacy. Bathrooms in great shape. Very nice gate people who called me when I left without my water regulator! :)

We have stayed at Lake Powhatan many times over the past 4 years and always enjoyed our stay. The first two nights of this visit were fine. Then On Saturday Night March 14 an outdoor club from Clarkson University arrived and set up in several campsites next to us. One site had 6-8 tents set up in it. Theses are sites that are not supposed to have more than 6 people. After dark the group was loud and using offensive language and playing music that impacted our experience. We decided to leave a night early from our stay.
