Beautiful park for a short overnight. An interesting location being so near a metropolitan area.

I was very disappointed camping there I stayed there two nights the first night when I took a shower and by the way I was in site number 51 I only had lukewarm water the second night that day I had spent the whole day at the Biltmore and when I got back at 9:00 someone was camping in my site I asked him do you know this is my site he said they told me that no one was camping here I said who told you the girl at the gate I said well where's your ticket for your windshield oh they didn't give me one so I knew he was full of s*** at that point so I said you better stop what you're doing and just hold up and see if I can get another site I went to a host the host called the manager and the manager came and gave me another site which took about 45 minutes and I was a little disappointed that they didn't go over and say something to the guy who was basically squatting the campsite which I paid for but they did not so the second night camping there in a different site I use the shower that next morning because I was leaving and again very lukewarm water the problem that someone took my site was they don't lock the gate they leave the gate wide open so when they leave at 8:00 someone can come in just like what that guy did and just steal someone's sight if you're not there I suggest you people get your s*** together and lock that gate so this doesn't happen again and give a gate code number to the people that paid for the site. I will never camp there again very poorly managed.

This is a great hidden gem in Western NC!! We made reservations because it was a convenient 1.5 hour drive for us. Campsites are great, bathrooms are clean, staff is super friendly. We will be back!!

Beautiful campground just off Blue Ridge Parkway; great restroom/shower facilities, friendly & helpful staff on duty 8am-8pm. Ice & firewood; no other amenities, no store or restaurant nearby.
