Very nice campsites. Very wooded area with lots of privacy. Very clean bathrooms/showers. The campground was fairly quiet. The gate worker was friendly and very helpful. Trails nearby are nice. Will definitely keep this campground high on our list.

Have stayed at this campground several times and always enjoy it. Conveniently located near Asheville shopping and restaurants but still very much a national forest camping experience.

I truly enjoyed my campsite- it was private, quiet, with plenty of downed firewood to forage. I also got to see an incredible bioluminescent glow worm in the wild! Felt very special. The site and bathhouse were clean, water accessible, and the bear boxes were a great addition to a tent site! I'll definitely be back.

The camp site had exactly what we needed - tent pad, fire ring, bear box and picnic table. It rained while we were there and our tent held up beautifully. Only thing to note was that our tent was sitting on top of quite a bit of water at site 097.
Bathrooms were fine just bring a good flashlight to get there!

Site was great, and amenities were good. Clean restrooms. Only thing I noticed, that I wasn’t fond of, is the speed at which vehicles travel through the loops. Too many were going well over the posted speed limit, and with many campers walking along the loops, this is extremely dangerous.

Sites was amazing and bathrooms clean. Shower heads probably can be replaced on Lake Loop. All personnel was professional and helpful.

Bring noise canceling earphones if camping Friday and Saturday night. Lots of noise on our experience, but otherwise a great spot to camp. Baths clean, campsites clean, and just an all around good experience. Staff was fantastic.

Beautiful, peaceful camping area nestled in a lovely thick forest. Can go for a morning walk down to the lake or hit the many trails in the surrounding area. Feels secluded but you're 10 minutes from a grocery store and a quick 20 min drive to west Asheville if you want to do activities in town. Facilities were clean, showers hot, campers respectful, and staff friendly.
