Lake Powhatan offers a fantastic location near Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, with well-maintained, private campsites and friendly staff. Campers appreciate the beautiful, serene environment and the variety of outdoor activities available, including hiking and biking trails. Lake Powhatan is one of my fave places to camp! The sites and bathroom/facilities are always well-kept and clean. And the showers bathrooms are heated, which is great because they are open all year. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I love that there's some amount of woods between each site so it doesn't feel like they are on top of each other. There are lots of hiking trails around, but the campground is nice to walk around, too. It'll be my go-to place for this area!

The campsites are spacious and private - ideal. I loved having the paths and lake nearby as well. The woman at the check in gate couldn't have been nicer - we'll be back.

Very nice campground with plenty of space. Ample bathrooms and hot showers. My only reservation is the heaters in the bathrooms stay on all the time, so it's REALLY hot in there. Please add a thermostat to control.

We've stayed at Lake Powhatan many times and have always had a great experience. The staff is friendly, the sites and bathroom are kept neat, and the quick access to excellent mountain bike trails are a major bonus. We'll definitely be back.

Like Powhatan is definitely our preferred campground! It's quiet, clean, and the sites are large enough to feel like you have a lot of separation from the adjacent camper.
