Beautiful campsites, with lots of privacy, in a very quiet setting. Bathrooms/showers were spotless and the campground is very well maintained. Hiking trails are excellent, well marked, and interesting. Lake is very nice, too. Too cold for the beach, but it looked great. Park staff are all friendly and helpful. We'll be back!

Wonderful place to stay when we were visiting Asheville. The sites are clean and quite and the bath rooms were very clean. You can tell the campground is well taken care of. We always saw someone around maintaining the grounds.

Extraordinary hospitality: campground hosts went an extra mile (and then some) to help. Christie is the best among the best!
When hiking, be mindful of speeding cyclists coming down the trail.

Clean campground, roomy sites and friendly, helpful staff. Better showerheads in the bath rooms would be appreciated, though!

Site 52 Lake side is NOT lakeside. The picture you have posted is deceiving and wrong. It literally ruined the experience.

We had a wonderful 10 day’s camping at Lake Powhatan. We were in the Lakeside loop. Sites are nicely spaced allowing for a pleasant experience for all to enjoy their own camping time in the National Forest. Of course, the mountain biking is great. We also walked to the Arboretum to enjoy the exhibits there, an easy 1.5 mile walk from camp. The campground is well cared for by the staff on premise, would definitely recommend visiting this area.
