The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They had my reservation pass ready to go. The area was nice and clean but the fire wood was a little expensive. It was peaceful and very nice. I will definitely be back. Thank you.

The park and campground are very nice, lots of trees between sites with plenty of privacy. It is close to many trails, right from the campground or within a short drive. Take the Blue Ridge Parkway, there are many trails available. The sites for RVs are rather small, we were in Lakeside loop with full hookup, our site was tight (we have 35feet travel trailer). The staff at the campground was helpful and we enjoyed proximity to Asheville for shopping and restaurants.

Sites were very nice and clean. The staff were great and the campground was well kept. Great hiking trails nearby and well marked.

Beautiful campground! Staff here were so friendly and welcoming. The sites were large and private. You can hike lots of trails and around the lake directly from the campground. We didn’t use the bathhouse facilities so I can’t speak to those. Great experience our first time out in our travel trailer!

Great well kept campground with lots of good things to do. Very close to Asheville, NC, which has loads of breweries, restaurants and stores.

Staff are great here - very helpful and good attention to detail; clean bathrooms and showers; camp sites are fairly spaced out; Verizon - no cell phone coverage;

Lake Powhatan is so much better than years past. It is cleaner and upkeep seems better than the last few years. It is so convenient to Arboretum, trails, grocery store and downtown Asheville. We love Lake Powhatan!
Cell/internet is spotty and no service at alot of sites. This is good and bad....due to family situations and job, so wish service was better. Could Internet/wifi be an option?
Also, checking reservation site, always shows most sites booked. We have always seen open sites as we have been camping, but reservation site says "reserved". Don't know if there is a way to address. Also, years ago, there was always a few spots available for "first come first serve". This would be such a good option for traveling thru or local people!

Campsite was clean and so were the restrooms. Only wish they had more parking closer to the lake for those who want to fish. When I tried to go all of the spaces were taken.

Surprisingly nice campground given that it is so close to Asheville. Not as close to Asheville as the website claims, though. It's 20 min to downtown, not 10 min. Free firewood!

Lake Powhatan was a great place to take our little ones on their first camping trip! The facilities were clean, staff was super friendly and helpful, and the campground is well maintained. Plenty of trails to explore, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and NC Arboretum, and close enough to town without the noise or traffic. We will be back!
