What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

Very clean overall. Would like to have a basic trail map. In the RV water and electric hook ups would be nice.

For $30 a night, I at least expect soap in the bathrooms, and a working hand dryer. Pretty disappointed that this site had neither.

Staff were pleasant and very helpful; assisted me in signing up for the Federal park pass.
Stayed in the non-RV section this time. Quiet; just birds singing and the sound of the water in a nearby stream.
Bathrooms were clean as well as fire ring area. Other campers were friendly yet respectful; no excessive lights and noise after 10pm.

Sections A B C are for tents and small campers. Section D and F are for larger campers . Please be aware Generators are allowed in these two areas of campground.
This is a national park so no amenities except for bathroom is provided. Water is available at the dump station. No parking is allowed on campsites. Please park on paved areas.

Wonderful campground with easy in and out, lots of nice trails and right on the creek. The only complaint was the bathrooms weren’t very well kept but it was a holiday weekend and the campground was busy.

(This is Husband Tommy.)It was our first time camping without any hookups(no electricity, water or sewer). We filled up with water at the campground and used a quiet generator during the specified time only when needed(making coffee in the morning). The staff was friendly. The bathhouse(toilets and sinks only) was clean but no heat. Heat in the bathrooms would be nice. We had a great time! NO cell service! Please find a way foe cell service. My wife has to keep up the children.
