What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

Great location to experience the park. Easy access to the Cherokee/Bryson City/Deep Creek areas. Campground was spacious and quiet. The creek was peaceful and the Nature Trail was short, but fun. Cell service in the campground would have been nice.

Nice rustic campsites. Would be nice to have updated restrooms. With counters or shelves to put toiletries on.

We arrived later in the day but easily found the camp reservation slip at the front office and the camp site. The sites were well kept and the bathhouse clean.

Great national park campground. Large RV might experience some tight spacing to get in and out of site. Alot of things to do in area.

Super convenient campground to the major hikes. Bathrooms were clean, folks respected quiet hours for the most part, and the stream ambient noise was incredibly pleasant. Only minor complaint is that campsites are pretty close to one another but not really bothersome as long as you set your expectations appropriately! No cell service (T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T)

Very nice campground. While we were there they had a warning of bear sightings, not that we were in danger but to be vigilant about putting food away and not approaching them. We were right by the river so that made it nice. Very clean
