What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

It’s a haven. A national treasure. And the bison! Great job bringing them back! Also appreciate all the work that went into keeping things going as we went into USG shutdown mode.

Great place to stay, especially if you want to go to Kuwohi/Clingman's dome before the crowds. FYI the parking lot had multiple spots available at 11 am on a Friday in October, but totally full by 12 noon.
Windy roads on the way up to the campground so I reccomend arriving before sunset, unlike I did. Download maps and directions before you head here because there is no service.

Great park always enjoy our visits to Smokemont. Would be great to see shower houses added. Staff at park and camp hosts were fantastic as always. Park kept clean.

Checked into the campground and was greeted with the friendliest staff members. Restrooms were nice and clean. Wasn't aware of the washing sink outside for dishes, but will take advantage of that next trip. Adding this campground to our yearly rotation.
