What Guests Are Saying
Hawthorn Bluff offers a peaceful camping experience with beautiful lake views, well-maintained trails, and clean facilities, making it a popular choice for families and groups. While some RV sites are not level and certain amenities like hot water and flushing toilets experienced issues, the friendly staff and clean environment contribute positively to visitors' experiences. Overall, guests appreciate the campground's serene atmosphere and accessibility to nearby attractions, despite occasional maintenance concerns.

Always enjoy Hawthorn, more so in the Fall. Cleaning folks of restrooms are the best we have found in Oklahoma and Texas. Only thing we noticed were the over full dumpsters, but a pick up was done before we left. Front gate folks are always friendly and willing to help with questions, and this time a site change.

I feel as if my entire body and soul reaps the relaxing benefit of every stay at Hawthorne Bluff. We especially appreciate the beautiful views, the big lots, the nature trail (where we’ve seen beavers, armadillos, squirrels, turtles, and toads). And the friendliness of the hosts cannot be surpassed. We love this place!

The nicest thing about the campsite was the showers and toilets. It really was nice to be able to freshen up in clean, functioning facilities. However, there wasn’t a level surface for pitching a tent or a tent pad. So you’re sleeping on a hill. Also, the sites were crammed pretty close to one another, which isn’t totally ideal when you’re camping to “get away”, you know? All in all it wasn’t terrible, it was close to the water and there was a trail nearby, but I likely won’t come back to this campground.

What a beautiful campground!!! Only thing that would make it better is water and septic! October is the best time to be here and we live 15 miles away. What a gem so close to home!

Had a great time at Hawthorne Bluff. Campgrounds were well kept and clean. I was especially impressed with the bathrooms. The only negative we experienced was having to fight off racoons all night starting at about 6:30pm. Smart little buggers. I watched them push off a large bin that was sitting on top of a cooler and then proceed to open the cooler! Loved the camp site though, will be back!
