What Guests Are Saying
Sutton Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment, with clean restrooms and attentive hosts. Many visitors appreciate the spacious, private campsites and the accessibility of nearby hiking trails. However, some guests find the pricing a bit high compared to nearby campgrounds with more amenities, and there are concerns about tree maintenance affecting RV access. Overall, the campground is favored for its tranquility and cleanliness, making it a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

No water hookup, no sewer no dump station, nice clean restrooms & shower, clean. Road turns tight for large rigs.

This was a nice forest campground. Toilets were clean and airy. We expected the sites to be a little more spacious than we got — they varied in size quite a bit and ours were quite hemmed in so it got dark early, but other sites would stay lighter longer. A plenty decent campground though.

We use this campground because it is usually available. I did have a few questions this time though. To me it looks like the park has a staffing issue. Examples would be fire pits so full of ash that there is no way sparks are being contained. How long has the sign been up for no firewood available (the sign sure looks weathered). And really, the park isn't even beginning to be utilized to its maximum; important in a state where funding is entirely user fees. While we were there, they had the D loop closed saying it was reserved for a group; it was empty the entire 4 days and the last reserve signs on each campsite were from June. Bathrooms were locked down that way; another sure sign of not being used. The sign when you enter the campground was saying full on that loop or another group site; they were empty. A simple sign on the main highway saying, "sites available", with the extreme difficulty of getting any site on the coast, would almost guarantee a lot more usage; other campgrounds on the coast have "full" or "available" on the main road. While we were there, D loop was empty (closed?), C loop was 60-75% empty, and A and B loops had sites each night. Great for us, since we don't like crowds; bad for the state funding since they are leaving a lot of $$$ on the table each night.

Lovely campground with well-spaced, private sites and great hiking trails from the campground. The only problem was around noon, when we were looking forward to relaxing in the nice surroundings. Suddenly there was an airplane roar of a leaf blower, totally destroying the peace and quiet. We weren't the only campers to hurriedly get in our car and leave. Have you ever heard of brooms? Much quieter way to keep things clean.

Lovely secluded campsite, but the camping experience was marred by campers at the group campsite that were making noise well past quiet hours. The campground hosts did nothing to quiet the group down, so ultimately we had to tell them to be quiet near midnight. Other than that incident, it was a nice campground to stay at.

There were 2 out houses for our entire loop of 22 sites and a group site. Found out there was a broken pipe since before the 4th of july weekend. We were there the week after 4th of July for 7 days and no one came to fix the bathrooms! There were 4 different groups in the group campground while we were there. 4 times one of the outhouses ran out of TP, So one outhouse for the group camp and all 22 individual sites, not acceptable!!! We paid for a site with access to flush toilets and instead got one outhouse for 22 sites and one group site. The hosts were seldom seen and drove right past the outhouses, never replacing the paper. Not sure what they even did except change the reservation tags. Very seldom even saw them! Love the site but very unhappy about the lack of bathrooms! Kind of expensive for no bathroom access! Dissapointed with the hosts, not sure what they are even there for?

Great camp, close to Florence. Bathrooms were closed and will likely remain closed for some time.
