Small campground, which makes it perfect. Our spot was on the lake and private, though not all are, so keep that in mind, depending on what you’re looking for. I highly recommend this campground and will be returning for sure.

Camp hosts were fantastic as usual. The camp was nice and clean and other campers were respectful. This remains our go-to place on the coast.

There did not appear to be a host on duty, so I stuck a copy of the registration on the board at the host's site.
The campground was lovely and quiet and we went for a walk in the dunes and made good use of the fire pit.

I told Recreation.gov that we had an 18' travel trailer. We were assigned a campground better suited to a tent. We had to parallel park in an undefined area as there wasn't room to back the trailer in to the site. There was no graveled area--we had to park on very wet muddy grass. The campground host was not available.
These sites have absolutely no privacy--they are separated by a small section of fence.
Oregon Dunes NRA has gone to reservation only. We had to pay a $9 reservation fee on top of a $22 fee--that's $31 for one night, no hookups, no amenities. Should have gone to an Oregon State Park.

It's close enough to the highway to hear vehicular traffic. However the lake right there helps make up the difference. It is a very small campground and during peak summer times you will be pushed on top of each other,

Some sights are not deep enough for a 20’ trailer and a vehicle. The fire pit I had was to close to my camper to have a fire. Our space had very uneven slopes. Fun lake to fish and now we know the spaces better. I would advise anyone to not reserve until you look. Then go to the top of the hill on hwy 101 south of there about a mile where you can get cellular signal to reserve. If it’s available?

This campground is located in close proximity to multiple lakes and wetlands. Due to this, there can be an abundance of mosquitoes between the months of April and August. Please be prepared for this. |
