Great location. Site 15 is on the outer edge, so more private than many other sites, which were pretty open to each other. The 1 mile trail from the bridge, behind sites 1-15, and down to the beach is lovely. (Nearly full sand walking for the last half mile.) This CG seems to attract a range of types of campers, so it’s luck if the draw if you end up next to noisy or quiet neighbors. No ATVs in the CG, but sounds from the nearby ATV-accessible dunes, but not as bad as I expected, possibly because the surf is relatively loud.

Loved how shady and private our site was compared to others at the campground - we had neighbors but couldn't really see them. Lots of shrubs and pretty large site. Located pretty equally from either restroom.

we have traveled cross country for the last 10 months and have stayed at free campgrounds that have been 100x nicer than this paid campground. (we stayed at site #22.)
cons:
•The picnic table was falling apart-half of the bench was missing with exposed screws/nails and sharp wood.
•Huge thistles under the picnic tables, no weed control.
•Only one section to place a tent, despite the site being labeled to hold two tents-the other place to put a tent had stumps of wood sticking out of the ground and a random clump of concrete.
•The bathrooms had no hand soap and were very unclean.
•When I approached the Camp Hosts, the sign was up that said "Off Duty", we never saw any Hosts during our two days there.
•Potable water came out looking yellow.
Concerning to think these sites cost as much as they do, but there’s no evidence of them being taken care of.
pros:
•The only campground in the area that said they allowed 2 vehicles without extra charge.
•Close to the Oregon Dunes Recreation Area, which is beautiful.

The trees were lovely. The air was so humid that occasional drops of water landed on my face most of the weekend; I rather liked it. We took the trail to the beach from the campground and it was beautiful the entire way. My time was wasted trying to choose a site based on the map of the campsite layout because the actual layout was extremely different than presented online, but luck was on our side. There was loud partying going on on the opposite side of the campground and it didn’t affect us. The privacy provided by the trees was wonderful, but our quiet neighbors were right next to our site.

Don’t book spot 39 unless you're going to book spot 51, they are only separated by a tiny fence so you are right with your neighbors. The spots are very close together would not recommend if you go camping to get away from people. The bathroom was clean tho!

Campground was clean, quiet, and had great access. I would definitely come back or keep this high on the list for return trips to the coast.

Even though technically there is no camp host, except to clean the bathrooms, the campground is well maintained.
A great place to camp, kayak the Siltcoos river and hike to the beach.

The space needs to be leveled a bit, as the blacktop is narrow and rumpled up and hard to level. The view is great. The space is small but worked fine for me. There weren't as many dogs running loose as times past, and was a bit quieter this trip.

The site where we put the trailer was site 41. One side was 6" lower than the other. Glad I had some 2× 4 to level it out. The picnic table had big holes from dry rot. The camp host was really nice and we were able to pick a bunch of Huckleberies.

There is a 14-day in 30 rolling days camping limit on the Siuslaw National Forest. The 14 days does not have to be consecutive. The 14-day limit covers the entire Siuslaw National Forest and not just this campground as shown in the Rules Section. This means you cannot go to other campgrounds on the Siuslaw National Forest after reaching the 14-day limit. |
