The campsite and grounds were well maintained and clean. When we arrived were were a little taken back by the fact that there were NO working restrooms on our side of the lake (#266) . We were not aware of this previous to our arrival or it may have influenced our decision on campsite location.

The toilets & showers by our sites were closed due to sewage backups. Portable toilets & showers were brought in. The porta-potties needed to be emptied & cleaned more frequently as they were disgusting.

Had to change my original site due to the road construction in campground but the rangers were very helpful in helping me pick another site with what I was looking to have with my stay

Normally, I am completely satisfied with the Shenango Rec Area but my last camping experience over the July 4 week was a complete disappointment. The main area of the campground was closed due to major roadway construction leaving only the Old Duck Lake and New Duck Lake sections open to campers. The road construction is proceeding at a turtle's pace and probably should have been scheduled for a date after the campground closed for the year.
The restroom and shower facilities were closed due to a sewer line problem and so a shower trailer was put into place as a substitute along with porta-potties situated through the campground. The 4th of July week is probably the busiest time for the campground and filled with guests. Because it was a holiday week, the portable toilets went without maintenance and were disgustingly full and the odor was horrendous in the 90 degree temperatures.
The temporary dump station was another matter entirely. There had been a single tube sticking through a manhole cover into a sewer but was now down into the sewer itself. The manhole had collapsed and left a gaping three foot hole in the ground. Complaints to park employees that this should be rectified went ignored, as far as I know. Days later when I went there to dump my campers contents, it still had not been fixed.
I think that it might have been better if they had just closed the entire campground for the 2021 season.

The camp hosts were next to us taking up 1/4 of the site with their club car and almost hit our chairs trying to back out on our site. . Not friendly and had poop RV containers filled with flys and maggots on it.
Bathroom were closed and it was hard to find a shower.
No real dump station just a sewer hole that was fallen in the sand bags around it.
