Clean campground with beautiful views. Some spots felt cramped but overall will be returning.

Great campsite, views, and knowledgeable park rangers! Portapotties were always stocked with toilet paper

Overall, the campground was great! Due to a broken pump, there was no running water. Fortunately, we were notified of this well in advance by email so we were prepared. Unfortunately, although we were told that the campsite was not level, we were not given much more detail. Thus, we had major issues getting our hard-sided popup into the site. Having had a bit more information as to just how unlevel the site was would have been helpful. Hopefully, this will be addressed in the renovations that will be taking place.

Beautiful campground, there were some hikes right from our campsite. Only complaint is that it was cold in the mornings with the mountains hiding the sun. But worth the sacrifice for the view.

It’s the most beautiful campground in Big Bend NP. We have a small motorhome & only a few campsites can accommodate so you must reserve ahead of time. Anyone can do the paved & short Window View Trail. We chose to hike the Loop trail counterclockwise at the recommendation of rangers because the incline is more gradual (we are much older than most hikers). The restrooms are clean but after the first day they were closed & port-a-pots installed because the well pump was broken. A much needed renovation is planned in the near future for the lodge above the campground. So happy that we were able to spend a few days here. No hookups, no generators where we camped but a solar generator got us through 2 nights & 3 days.

Chisos Basin was a fantastic site to stay at. It was off the beaten path while remaining accessible. Close to a convenience store, but still secluded in feeling. It's nice an centrally located to anywhere you want to go in the park, and has a visitor center and a shop nearby in case you forget anything. The campsites were roomy enough for our 15-foot tent, and we had one of the smaller sites.

Beautiful park and experience. That park is natural, which we enjoyed. The problem is that we could not fill our rv with water in Chisos Basin because of a broken pump...we had to drive to Rio Grande Village to get water...I get it, the pump is broken and its Texas, it's dry, but in a country like USA, to me, it's unacceptable.

Be sure to read the details about each site as some are not conducive for RVs or vehicles. Go the whole way to the bottom of the site details and the details are there.

Nice location for a campground, very pretty. The Lost Mine Trail was a good hike, despite the fact that no mine exists anywhere near it! If you want to do this hike, plan to start first thing in the morning as there is only limited parking near the trailhead.
