We love Midway and it looks like others have found the same thing. We picked a different site from the one we are usually in and it was much easier to get into with a 44 ft MH with a tow.

Awesome campground with easy access to everything you need. There is a fun trail system just west of the grounds that is easy to walk to and that we had fun exploring. Only downside was how many leaves there were in our site. They clean up the sites from leaves everyday but not if you’re in the site. We spent 12 nights here and by the time we left you couldn't see the driveway nor the picnic area.

The gate host at Midway are the best I have ever encountered. This is one of the reasons we camp here all the time. Midway is convenient to our work and home also a reason we camp here a lot.

Only stayed overnight passing through but the campground is a gem. Our 39ft Class A motorhome fit neatly in spot #7 backing in. Level pavement with nice view of Midway Lake. Very low road noise. 30amp power good for November. Smooth check in process. Easy on/off main road. Excellent value.

Great location to do the Waco experience. This is an older park with some short and unlevel sites. Bring leveling blocks. The full hookup sites in the front are level pull through but the one in the loop are rather steep if you have a longer RV. The attendants are friendly and helpful. It seems as though they are in the midst of upgrading some of the table covers. Most sites have a lot of shade. Bath houses could use an update.

Very nice campground. Well maintained, clean. Restrooms could use some updating. In womens restroom, only one of the two showers worked. Even though this is close to the highway, it is quiet. All sites were paved.

We knew there would be rain all night the first night so I tried calling two days in advance, then one day in advance, to try to change the reservation to only come the second night. No one answered or returned my calls. When we arrived on the second night of the reservation, we were told that we needed to have contacted the park office, but then she told us there isn't a phone so we would have had to come to the campsite to cancel?!?! We live far away, we would have had to drive all the way there to tell them we weren't camping there that night then drive all the way home then drive all the way back the next day for the night we actually wanted to camp. Absurd.
I later submitted a refund request to recreation.gov and they denied my request.
The campsite was so close to a highway you could see and hear all night long. No night sky view because of light pollution.
But, we had fun, so I didn't give it only 1 star.

This was a beautiful park! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back the next time we are in Waco. The location was close to town. The staff were friendly. The only downfall was no wi-fi, but our hotspots worked just fine. Even though our site was very tight for our 45' fifth wheel, we got in with no problems and even though there were trees everywhere, they were trimmed perfectly. We had no issues and the site was very spacious. Each site has it's own covered picnic area. There is plenty of park and green space to play and run the dogs. The lake view was nice. Water level was low so it was muddy by the lake, unless you go to the boat launch area. Nice hiking trails nearby too. Definitely can't beat the price either. We love the COE for providing parks like this!!
