Midway Park offers a beautiful setting with stunning views of Lake Waco, well-maintained grounds, and friendly staff. Many campers appreciated the clean facilities, level sites, and helpful hosts, making it a pleasant stay overall. However, some concerns were noted regarding proximity to the highway, noise levels, and the need for maintenance and improvements in certain areas.

I arrived at about nine pm only to find someone else in my spot and the hosts not there. When the hosts finally came back (they had to run a short errand, although why both of them had to, I don’t know), they were very helpful. It turns out the person at the gate had given this couple a different site than the one they’d booked, even though the couple told her it was the wrong one. So I ended up taking the site they were supposed to have had, because they refused to move (understandably so), which was further away from the bathroom. The whole thing was bizarre, but the hosts were very helpful and supportive through the whole thing.
The sites themselves were nice and level, right on the lake front (well both 3 and 7 anyway), with nice picnic tables. The walk to the bathroom from any site was honestly kinda far because it was up on this hill, but it did have ample parking. The bathhouse was clean but unfortunately the showers didn’t work.
Overall I’d like to be able give this four stars. I took one off for the showers not working. But it gets three stars because that kind of mix up from someone checking people in is pretty inexcusable. As a woman traveling alone it’s pretty distressing to get your site late at night (which I did on purpose because it was so hot and I don’t have A/C), and then not be able to just park and go to sleep. In ten years of camping that has never happened to me before.

It could be perfect but they don't seem to care much about cleaning. The site had bottles and cans in the firepit, charred bacon left on the grill, and the bathroom was disgusting. Good location but that's not enough. Take some pride in your park and clean it

Midway is a great place to stay, you just need to make reservations early for a site with sewer and 50 amp.

This is a very pretty campground with a gorgeous lake view. Unfortunately, it is run poorly. This is a huge disappointment for a Core Campground. The women's bathroom had two showers and neither one worked. I asked the cleaning crew if they Park Ranger knew. They had reported it multiple times. Doors were not hung properly in the women's and men's restrooms. The men's only had one functioning shower. There were no hooks to hang your towel or clothes. Also, no holders for your soap or tolitriees. One urinal was completely missing in the men's bathroom. There was only one bathhouse/restroom, so as a woman, you have no way to get clean unless you go to the men's. We told them about the showers. They made no repairs while we were there. Also, they only clean the bathrooms three times a week. I have never experienced this at a Core Campground. The staff here need to be released of their duties. The place also needed mowing.

The site was great.. will definitely like to get that site again.. the only thing Midway Park does not have anything for the kids to do.. there is no swimming area.. it seems to be more for the older people that just want to relax..

We were one of the lucky ones our site was on the end which gave us wooded space on the left. But the sites are WAY TO CLOSE!!!
We had an issue with our reservation we thought we had one more day and we were just starting to eat our dinner at 7:30 and they came by and said we were supposed to have been out at 2:00 that day. This was obviously our fault for not double-checking the reservation but they should have driven by about 3:00 to make sure we were out. We had to pack up as quickly as possible so the other people could get in. There were no more sites the Park Host said. So he was obviously NOT DOING HIS JOB or they would have known earlier that we were still there. Bad experience all the way around, but beautiful lake.

Tall grass. Unable to park near campsite. Showers didn’t work. Gate hours unsuitable for those traveling for work.

Very disappointed we were unable to fish near the camping site. We were told we would have to walk down a trail, or drives several more miles to fish. Chose this location because of the picture of the lake near the camping site.
