What Guests Are Saying
Timpooneke campground is praised for its stunning views, clean facilities, and friendly hosts who take great pride in maintaining the site. Campers appreciate the spacious sites, especially those with yurts, and the opportunities for hiking and enjoying nature. However, some noise from nearby roads and vehicles can be disruptive during the night, which may affect the overall camping experience.

beautiful setting and with plenty of hiking trails. I like the distance between campsites.

I camped in site 24 which we enjoyed a lot. The campsite was somewhat separated. The table, fire pit and grill stand were located directly in front of the parking spot. But the location for the tent was a to the left of the parking spot. This was great because there was a sense of privacy. The sites are definitely spaced out well and you don’t feel like the sites are on top of each other. I would definitely recommend site 24 and this campground.

Tent spot could be made more level. The scenery is unbelievable! Great hikes to scout falls.

The site was wonderful. Beautiful scenery, rivers, and forests all around. I’ve stayed numerous places and this is one of my favorites.
That being said, the hosts were some of the worst I’ve ever dealt with. They forced us to pay for cars that we had no intention of keeping there. They lacked any ounce of professionalism, from the first word of our interaction. We’d just arrived and nobody had done anything out of line, but they came at us like we’d caused them headaches all night. Truly a shameful job on their part.

We had so much fun at the campground ⛺️ The site had plenty of room from the other camps, and the bathrooms were clean and close by.

Fun campground for the whole family! Lots of hiking nearby. Pit toilets were way nicer than we expected. There is clean water in the faucets outside. The firepit was nice and we had a double site so we had 2 picnic tables on a concrete slab. There was also a BBQ stand for dutch oven cooking (no grill grates were in the campsite at all so come prepared if you want to grill). Be aware that if you have an extra car and you want to park it somewhere other than your campground to save money, you will have to pay the $10 fee if you park at the campsite for more than 15 min. We thought our friends could come join us for dinner and just park in our site, but they had to pay the $10 to eat there. You could probably park at the Timpooneke Trailhead Parking lot but then you will need to pay for a canyon pass. It's more than a little complicated. All extra cars are $10... just know that going into it and you'll be fine. Also, they only take cash or check.
Overall, we had a great, but very cold visit as it rained all night and was 29 degrees in the morning. We saw a deer and plenty of squirrels. Tent sites were smallish but big enough for 3 - 6 man tents. My brother had to pitch his 10 person tent in the horse corral as it was the only place big enough. It was either that or the parking spaces. The corral was clean though, so it was fine.
