What Guests Are Saying
Eshom Campground is praised for its beautiful and serene location, with clean facilities, a helpful host, and enjoyable amenities like a nearby creek and meadow for stargazing. Many guests appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the opportunity for family bonding in a secluded environment. However, accessing the campground can be challenging, requiring a rugged vehicle due to rough roads, and it is relatively far from major attractions like Sequoia Park. Some visitors experienced issues with smoke from prescribed burns during their stay.

Beautiful, spacious campground with nice sized sites. A great place to get away and relax. Note that if you are looking to visit the parks you either need to drive for some distance or have a car that can handle some rough road. The campground itself is beautiful.

Site host was super nice and helpful. It was clean, quite, spacious, very remote and beautiful. The issue is getting to Eshom, better off packing mules and trekking up the mountain side. We had two nights booked only stayed one because we weren't going back up the path google took us to get there. And we had a van, I couldn't imagine if you had a camper van or anything other than a small vehicle. The road was so narrow and it was all switchbacks. We stayed here because Sequoia campgrounds were full, it was an hour drive after leaving the campground to get to sequoia so that's another reason we opted to not go back.

We were looking for places to camp near Sequoia. It was a ways off the beaten path, but we finally got there. I would say it took us close to 45 minutes to get there after we pulled off 180 on the route we took (Used Waze GPS). This place was remote and yet very peaceful. There was a stream that ran behind some of the campsite and you could hear the water. The host was also friendly and allowed us to switch spots to an empty site that was more accommodating for hammocks. The bathrooms were very clean. There were a lot of bugs (like more than we have ever encountered on a camping trip) and no bear boxes or bear proof trash cans. We heard the bears tearing through the trash at night and took our chances by setting our stuff outside of the car so they wouldn’t attempt to get into the car. So other than the scary bears scavenging the site at night and the bugs, we enjoyed our stay.

The campground host was friendly and helpful, the bathrooms were clean, and the campsites were well maintained. All it all, it was a peaceful trip at a beautiful campground.

This campsite is beautiful and peaceful. However, it takes an hour's drive up a windy road to get there and it is literally on a dead end road connected to nothing. We initially thought we could thru hike to some nearby trails but got lost very quickly. Also, the entire site was visited by a VERY large black bear that roamed around all night going through trash cans. This place desperately needs bear boxes and better bear-proof trash cans. Old Bubba the bear was very well fed and very accustomed to humans.
They site was nice though. Very peaceful and we'll kept with a nearby stream in a beautiful forrest. Main complaint was that is was so far from everything else, but that's more on me for not doing my research!
