What Guests Are Saying
Gore Creek Campground is praised for its beautiful setting near the creek, providing a peaceful and private atmosphere with well-maintained facilities, including exceptionally clean bathrooms. Many guests appreciate the convenient access to Vail and nearby hiking and biking trails. However, some reviewers noted issues with noise from I-70 and the lack of water and campfires, alongside occasional challenges with campground management and site reservations. Overall, it remains a popular choice for campers seeking a serene experience close to outdoor activities.

We stayed at Gore Creek for 4 nights. We have a 29-foot Motor home. I believe we had site 7. I love camping in the mountains. The sites are not super flat so there was a bit of a incline getting into the site. There was plenty room for our Rv and tow dolly up where the site gets flat. it's so beautiful and the smell of pine, Fantastic!! Gore creek is coming out of the mountains there so the thunder of the creek was amazing. Terry the campground host is great! Keeps the outhouses very clean kept us informed of any bear activity. She is very nice, informative and friendly. I would love to come back it was spectacular!!!

We loved this campground and the only problem we had was that it rained for 6 days but that is not something anyone can control in the mountains

Good camping sites, clean rest rooms. No water supply.
A bear walked into our campground one afternoon, as we were sitting on patio chairs resting against our RV. We did not have food out anywhere. We waved our arms and made some noise, and he ambled away. He was pretty close--maybe 10 feet away, when we started waving arms and making noise.
If you stay in a tent, don't smell like food. Use the bear-proof lock boxes.
Beautiful place. I like to sit by Gore Creek and sketch.

Gore Creek Campground is very pretty, well maintained and the bathrooms are clean. The only downfall I would say is that the campsites in the back area (we were 24 & 25) did not have many flat areas for tents. They have one spot that is made for a tent, but if you have more than one they will be in slanted/forested areas that are difficult to maneuver. Tip: You can access water to fill up jugs on the backside of the convenient store next to the Safeway.
