My personal favorite of all the parks!
Campground - busy when we visited in late August, clean facilities though and well maintained. Most spots are very close together and there is no cell service at the campground. You can get service as you drive up to the high point though.

We stayed in site C012 with a 15ft trailer camper. I would not recommend this site if you have a trailer. It was really difficult to pull our camper up to the best spot and it left no additional room for our truck to fit. If you are tent camping, I would definitely recommend this spot! Beautiful site, lots of trees and foliage, felt secluded enough.

SUCH a fun time. Please look up at the sky and if you can, try to get a gunnison route permit

Campground was good - we had electric hook up which was nice. Pit toilets, and they ask that we limit our water use. Lots of short hikes from overlooks and the campground. Pictures don’t capture how beautiful it is.

The toilets in loop B are the worse (full and stinky) I've ever seen at a national park. I'm hoping that means that the park is getting more traffic and wasn't prepared for the unexpected number of visitors. If that's the case, I don't know how that could be rectified. But, it was something I noticed.

What an amazing location. However, the restrooms in the campgrounds were absolutely horrifying, and the entire campground reeked of feces at all times. I'm used to vault toilets when camping, and I have never had an experience near as awful as this was. There is no reason for this. All management needs to do is add water to keep the odor down. I will be back to this park, but I won't camp here again.

Great camp spot. Easy to find with a nice private feel to it. Good space for just about everything. You need. Rained the first night but once the clouds passed the stars where other worldly.

Helpful park staff, great campground location and a must-visit in Colorado. Very nice to have drinking water available at sites. No running water / sinks but not end of the world. Hike down to the bottom of the canyon if you can get a permit and dip in the river, absolutely a must-do while there. Hidden gem of the NPS.

We had a beautiful camp site here. It was set back from the road and tucked into the woods enough to feel secluded yet close enough to the restrooms to be convenient. It’s near a trail that leads to the rim and visitor center. While we were eating dinner a deer came near the site and watched us for a few minutes. We did not offer her any food or move near her and she walked away quietly when she was ready.
The campground has very little water and it’s hauled there from many miles away so they ask that you not wash your dishes there. Please plan accordingly.
