There are few very few amenities, unlike other National Parks. This park charges $30.00 to get in even if you have a reservation. There is water but it is restricted use because they have to truck it in. There are no trailer dump stations in the park. There are no free dump stations around Montrose. There is no shower station. A family of 4 our grey-water was full by the first day due to showering. Mesa Verde is way ahead of this park. The trailer spaces are tight and cramped, if there are others trying to set their trailer next to you there may not be room to pass around until they were done.

The online map I used for selecting my site, didn’t state type…back-in or pull thru, just the size camper that would fit. So I selected one to accommodate a 30 foot camper, Loop A. Upon arrival, this did have the length but was rather narrow access. As I walked the CG, I saw a few pull thru’s that would have been a better fit as I am a solo camper. Please provide more info on the maps. Otherwise, it was a short walk to the evening Ranger talks, lovely wooded sites & some needed growth around the site identification posts…had a close call when parking my tow vehicle.

This is a nice National Park campground close to hiking, the visitor center, and the main drive to enjoy the view points along the South Rim of the canyon. We were traveling in a 25' travel trailer and stayed in site B16. The site was plenty big for our camper and truck and was not too difficult to level. This site does have electric, but the pedestal was all the way at one end of the site, so depending on where you choose to put your camper, you may need a long electrical cord. It is a "parallel park" style site and unless you go through the loop backward, your door and steps will be facing the road instead of the site itself. Because of this, it is not an especially private site. Drinking water is available, but there is no place to fill an RV tank and there is no dump station, so plan accordingly. We did really enjoy attending the evening Ranger programs in the amphitheater.

Didn’t realize this was a handicapped site. It’s just a small concrete slab. We couldn’t even get our small trailer in. We ended up just leaving. So disappointing for booking 5 months out.

There was limited water available and it was a good hike to dispose of trash in the central dumpsters. The evening campground talks by the ranger was excellent. She provided good information regarding protecting night skies and she did an excellent job of getting her audience to interact with each other and with her.
