Campground is beautiful and well-maintained with clean bathrooms and sites that are on the larger side for this area. However, the first night of our stay, we had a horrible experience with a large, raucous group playing music and talking loudly until 2am. The campground hosts were located right across from this group, yet nothing was done to enforce quiet hours. Really disappointing that this group was allowed to ruin the night for everyone else in surrounding sites.

My last time there was probably 13-14 years ago. I was sad to see that the views that were afforded at most of the sites were gone as the trees now block views of the mountains and lake. But I know we need the trees. Just a different experience. There were some loud people up late nearby, but I guess you have to expect that these days unfortunately.

Fantastic location and well kept up. Great roads leading into the campground as well as nice hiking trails all around.

Great spot, level enough spot for my tent and some, not a lot, of shade. The vault toilets were close and very clean!
All in all it was a relaxing 3 days.

Great campground. There were issues with water availability and we almost cancelled. Thank God we didnβt. Great sites. We will be back again.

We loved our site 66 - stellar views of the mountains and quick walk down to the reservoir. Quiet campground despite being close to the highway. No wood or water during our stay in Sept 2023.

The Prospector campground is a fantastic spot if you want to be close to Breckenridge/Frisco without being around a lot of people and cars. There is a trail that goes around the reservoir that I highly recommend because it is beautiful. The bathrooms were well-kept and the camp sites themselves were clean and offered enough privacy from the other sites.
We were warned ahead of time that the well had run dry, so there was not water access during our stay. This is understandable and we prepared accordingly since we were forewarned about the water situation.

Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday. |
| General |
Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day. |
