What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained site with spacious, clean campsites and friendly staff, making it a peaceful place to enjoy nature. Many visitors appreciate the gorgeous scenery, access to the lake, and the opportunity to see wildlife like armadillos and woodpeckers. Although there are some lingering effects from Hurricane Helene, including tree damage and a need for improvements in certain facilities, overall feedback suggests a positive camping experience.

We love the park and how it's laid out. What we don't like is the way you make reservations. There are only a few sites that accommodate our camper and it seems like a battle to get those sites reserved.

It was beautiful and quiet. Large sites right on the water. Large easy to access picnic tables. Cooking table/ shelf, fire ring, grill and lantern hanger at every site. I like be this place. I just can’t get enough of Petersburg Campground. And the price is better than reasonably.

I stayed on campsite 49B. The site itself was absolutely beautiful. The only complaint I had (not the fault of the campground), because it is on a peninsula, it was very windy. Not sure if it is like that all the time, but consider that when making your reservations.
We rode around the grounds on bikes. I did not see a bad site on the grounds I would definitely stay here again.

We have camped in over 60 campgrounds across the country in the last three years and Petersburg is now one of our favorites. We stayed on site 49 and felt like we could stay there for the next few months. It was so relaxing sitting under the towering pines and enjoying the beautiful views of the lake. When we walked our dogs around the campgrounds, we checked out all of the other waterfront sites. It seemed like almost everyone we viewed, we commented, "That's a nice one." We look forward to returning again.

Huge, clean and level campsites with most at the lake. We have Cricket as our service provider and there were major issues with reception. We will be coming back to this campground.
