The campground features spacious sites, well-maintained bathrooms, and close proximity to the beautiful Pipiwai Trail. Great location, quiet and beautiful. Once the crowds leave the park, it is a different experience. Hiking up the trail to the waterfalls is a great way to start the day.

Great campsite with reserved spots and enough space between your neighbors. The facilities were clean and the scenery is amazing.

I have been going to this campground about 4 to 5 times a year now for the past decade. The new reservation system is helpful but many do not show so it is disappointing to see unused campsites. The rate increase is absolutely mind blowing based on what you get at the facilities. I love going for the solitude but at $20 a night I find it hard to justify as a Maui resident. I hope they are able to find a way to offer a discounted price to Hawaii Residents. I visited the Visitors Center this time and loved reading about the rich history of the Kipahulu district. Stop by to pick up a cute collector's "certificate". We also love the friendliness of the staff at this site!

Highly recommend the Pipiwai hike and strolling around the campsite. An enchanting place to be sure.

If you are camping at Kipahulu site 16 to 20 (which are extraordinary since located by the cliff!) be sure to not leave anything anything outside your tent overnight… We got our 2 coolers and all our camping gear left in a closed bin under the table stolen… Would need showers on site. Otherwise, staff is really nice and the view is great!

Excellent camping and hiking destination! The Pipiwai Trail is the best on the island. The campground was clean and in a great location at the furthest end of the island. The park staff were very helpful and kind.

Nice campground but there is no water point (even non drinkable water). The Kipahulu visitor center is 2min away by car and there you can find drinkable water.
