I stayed at one of the drive in sites. They don't have much privacy, but I'd do it again. The walk too sites are definitely the way to go...more private and closer to the ocean. The star gazing here was amazing.

We had an AMAZING time at this campground. We were on 20, camp site you need to access by a 2 minutes walk from the parking. The view was absurdly beautiful, we were alone with no real neighbours, truly an awesome experience. Note you can only access by walk, so if you don’t have a tent don’t book 18 to 20. Wasn’t clear when we first made our reservation.
Only thing I would say was a bit of a surprise was the fact that restrooms on the camp sites needed a bit of cleaning (pretty normal tho since they are not flushing toilets), but you can access some real restrooms over at the visitor center which is quite close to the campgrounds.

Overall I would strongly recommend going there, for 1 to 2 nights since the view and the campgrounds 18-20 are soooo pretty, best I’ve seen in my life.
The park itself has some attractions, but you see everything in an afternoon and after you need to go and hit some beaches closer to Hana or you’ll get bored.

Also would note that we were welcomed at the gate by a lady, and she was so nice and welcoming, some of the best customer service I’ve had. Didn’t speak with anyone at the park but her(dont remember her name) but staff felt very nice and respectful.
Thanks for having us !

We really like the place. The only drawback we see is that there is not a shower

Beautiful location. We stayed 4 nights total with friends. We got water & ice in Hana at the general store vending machines. Filled big 5 gallon water jug. It's a good idea to bring pop up canopy to cover your cooking & picnic table station because it will rain during your stay. We stayed dry while cooking. We also brought a fire pit & enjoyed s'mores over campfire. Some other campers joined us. Also played lawn games with new people we met. Hike to waterfall through bamboo forest is great. We took showers at Hamoa Beach after swimming

It was rainy and we didn’t get to the campground until later in the day but our site was amazing and the sunrise was perfect.

Great experience. Staying there gave us time to explore the park more. We stayed during a busy holiday week so the restrooms at the visitor center were a mess and needed restocked by the time we went over in the evening. Staff were there every morning to clean it up. Staff at the park are friendly. Please fix the road leading to the park. It is horrible for about 1/8 of a mile just prior to park entrance. Potable water right at the camp would make this a 5 star.
