What Guests Are Saying
Kipahulu Campground offers a stunning location with breathtaking views, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. The campground features spacious sites, well-maintained bathrooms, and close proximity to the beautiful Pipiwai Trail. While some campers experienced noise disturbances and the campground lacks water and showers, the overall serene atmosphere and natural beauty make it a memorable experience for many.

Park and campground were well maintained. It was nice that the main bathrooms at the visitor center stayed open. They’re much nicer than the ones down at the campground. Overall, great experience.

Nice spots in the grass. Beautiful sunrises and lots of hiking trails. Bring lots of water!

As a West Maui resident, I had reserved this a month before so many lost so much. It was refreshing/encouraging to see only Maui families (and 1 Oahu couple) camping at this time…
All rangers were were sensitive to the gravity of what had just happened to our island.

This place is awesome, right on the ocean side and by the forest at the same time. We got super lucky to find a campsite available on a very short notice, normally it is booked weeks in advance.

In my years of backpacking, rafting, and car camping the Kipahula campground offered a campsite that was in the top 6 of all the places I've been.

A very nice camp ground.
Be sure to account for strong wind.
The only downside is, that there is no water as written in the camp description. So no flushing toilettes or tap water.
Otherwise this camping location provides plenty space and very quiet (wind gusts not inluded).
If there would be running water (+1 ) and some more bushes for wind protection (+1) this would be a 5 star rating. Non the less, i will gladly visite again when i can.
