What Guests Are Saying
Sprague Creek Campground is a charming and clean site with excellent access to Lake McDonald, making it ideal for tent campers and smaller vehicles. Visitors appreciate the friendly camp host, beautiful lake views, and quiet atmosphere, particularly in the evenings. However, some sites are small and close together, resulting in limited privacy, and road noise can be an issue, especially for those near the main road.

Camping so close to the lake was super fun. The water was surprisingly warm and the campsite was very clean. There were food lockers every other campsite which was nice.

My partner and I stayed at 4 total campgrounds inside glacier and this one was our favorite! Really great view of the lake and also more privacy than some of the other sites. Clean bathrooms, even though there was not a shower. Would recommend!

Wonderful camping spot right on Lake Macdonald with enough privacy and easy access with two stairwells in easy side down to the lake. We had our Sup inspected at Apgar before taking it out on the water. Apgar seemed like a zoo of people everywhere compared to Sprague Creek. Easy check in, the host was nice and informative. Did hear quite a bit of road noise through the night and early morning. Luckily this woke us up so we could get to Logan Pass by 8:30 and able to get almost the last parking spot at the overflow lot just past Logan Pass. Had the best Gatorade & Snickers of my life at the Granite Peak Chalet which took credit cards on the Highline trail. We used the shuttle at the Loop to Logan pass after hiking the Highline trail and were lucky to have no wait as they had 3 shuttles at once picking up. Had a great dinner & drinks at Lake Macdonald lodge & picked up extra snacks & ice at the camp store.

Campground location was good and otherwise clean. Upon arrival we could not find the camp host to ask some questions; and the sign said camp host would come to us. That never happened. On our departure morning bathrooms were closed at prime time (830am) for cleaning, delaying our departure.

The campground is excellent, with multiple spots overlooking the beautiful Lake McDonald. The campground is small and generally quiet. And of course the National Park is amazing. Our only complaint resulted from the road construction being done on Going To The Sun at the time. The lack of pavement in particular made it eventful to get in and out when visiting the sites, and created considerably more noise from the traffic going by at night. That aside, Sprague Creek is amazing and you won't regret reserving a stay!

This campsite is right next to the bathrooms- could be a very good or bad thing. However, the lights shine directly into your tent ALL nightβ¦along with the bugs they bring. However, the campground host was WONDERFUL and the accessibility to Lake McDonald is unbeatable!

This campground is very conveiently located on the western side of the park right along the lake with lake access. The sites along the road are pretty loud with the traffic. Nice campground.

This is a very cute and quaint campground. I like that it puts you closer to the trails like Avalanche Lake. It is about a mile from Lake McDonald Lodge, which has a nice camp store, if you need supplies. I would say the even numbered spots on the edge of the lake are the largest/best. We liked our spot. We have a 20.5β sprinter and it fit nicely.. I donβt think it would have fit in a couple of the other spots we saw though (site 14, for example).

It was last minute booking and we've got site #16. Great location, very close to the lake. Campsites are close to each other, the only one big problem is the noise from the road and cars passing that you can hear very clear especially during a night. The location of the campground is great and it's relatively small, around 30 sites. We stayed one night, was able to do a hike to Avalanche lake and went further to St.Mary entrance the next day. I would reccomend staying here, the views of the lake early in the morning are incredible!
