We had a wonderful 3 day weekend stay at Powhatan. We were on a double site with family. Our site was level and spacious, with full hookups. We live in Hendersonville, so Powhatan is convenient for us as a camping destination--allowing us to easily get our daughter to swim practices in Arden and also allowing our non-camping family to visit and celebrate our mom's birthday.
Even though we were close to home, we felt far away in such a peaceful, well-maintained, location. The staff were friendly and I was told by family that the bath houses were clean.
My husband was a lifeguard at the lake in the late 80's, but we had never camped there before. We definitely will again!

Amazing park! Very friendly staff, clean bathrooms and beautiful private sites. Our only complaint is the pricey “green” firewood that is advertised as kiln dried. Bought two bundles and they would not burn. Went to Home Depot.

Very nice campsite in the Lakeside loop (36A). Very level with table, firepit and paved drive. Shaded but It had full hookups so solar didn't matter. Very convenient to Ashville and areas south. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bath house was very clean and the shower was hot and had sufficient pressure. The lake was small but pretty and I saw fish being caught. There was firewood and ice available. Overall very nice stay. My only negative was that despite being close to Asheville my phone/cell signal was poor. I would return. One bit of advice the full .hookup sites bookup quickly

Would have given it 5 stars as this is a nice campground. But, we stayed in site 65 - which looked good online - and it was probably the most run down campsite there. Go have fun at this campground but don’t reserve site 65.

Spacious, private site. Shower facility was clean but low water pressure. Water stream was so close to the wall, it was difficult to wash and rinse.

Nothing to complain about. The restrooms are clean, the atmosphere excellent and the bike trails good. Need more sites with hookups.
