Lovely smaller campsite - pay attention to how the spots are set up, not ideal for adventure vans as you end up pulling up alongside the road. Still beautiful and we were fortunate when we visited that not all spots were taken so the road positioning didn't bother us. Also not super dog friendly - no trails for the dogs to walk on in this part of the park. Would have been nice to be able to take our small dog on the heavily trafficked trail to the falls.

Nice, quiet, well maintained campground. Being slightly before the summer busy season, it was not crowded at all. Bryson City is a bit off the beaten path. However, it is closer to the campground than some of the other ones. The maintenance crews we excellent! Bathrooms were well kept.

No staff at the campground the two days I was there (early May). The weather report and the site reservations list posted was from the week before. The sites aren't bad, but some of them are very close. My neighbor's picnic table and mine were within 10 or 12 feet of each other. Shade is variable, depending on the site. Restrooms were clean, but are a pretty good walk from some of the sites. Usually not very crowded, this campground is definitely off the beaten path for most Smokies visitors. Make sure you know the roads to the campground, GPS tends to give some strange directions, and there isn't a lot of directional signage. Campground is close to the Deep Creek trailhead and adjacent picnic area. Deep Creek is very popular for tubing in the warm weather.

We picked a campsite in the back by the creek. The sound was so relaxing and it was beautiful. Make sure you get there in day light you have to carry your stuff from the parking lot.

No Deep Creek complaints. Staff onsite were friendly, bath rooms were spotless and firewood was stacked at several camps. Close day hikes were easy and the creek/river was crystal clear. Overall - great experience.
Complaint for the .gov crew - reservation system and policy, you need more First Come Sites. When you're traveling all day and getting tired or just feel the need to stay an extra day, it would be nice to be able to without travelling 10 miles for cell service after you arrive. If you don't have internet you are hosed.

Deep Creek is one of my favorite campgrounds. I always enjoy camping there and this trip was one of the best.

This was my first time camping in a National Park. I was more than pleased with the cleanliness of the camp site and bathroom. Same goes for the group campsite where I joined other Tenkara Camp attendees and the shelter where we gathered for programs and dinner.

Wonderful location for the Camping and hiking on a creekside...
Lots of activity locations nearby the campsite. A few minutes drive to Bryson City for getting supplies if need to be reloaded.
