What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

We had a great experience at Smokemont and would definitely stay here again! Our site was well-situated in the campground, near both trash, water and bathroom facilities. We were near the nature trail, and the stream was lovely. Staff and volunteers were helpful.

We tent-camped to hike the trails & fish. Campground staff is excellent. Adequate amenities and very clean. Zero issues or problems with this location. We did see an adult black bear DEEP in the woods down Bradley Fork, so do heed all warnings and clean up/store food properly. Awesome place, we'll be back (45yo male, 13 yo son)

I was excited for this campground because it’s in the Smokey mountains but it was one of the worst campsites I’ve stayed at, the tent pads are all gravel & they don’t have any pictures of their campsite online.

Our favorite place! Love playing in the creek, watching elk roam through the park, and the natural sound machine of the water at night.
The only negative is that the electrical plugs in all the restrooms have been removed. That was a downgrade in my option.

We had a great stay. The campground is on a river and right near the horse facility which seems to run tours on the half hour. The sites were level and clean and pretty far apart. Thanks to Brian for helping us with our generator! We enjoyed our stay

I stay here each year in late May or early June. It's a great spot to fish many of the local trout streams and it's close enough to town so you can run in for additional provisions or a hot meal as needed. The bathrooms were recently updated with new toilets and exhaust fans. The staff at the campground has always been very friendly. It would be great if the Park Service would install showers like they have at the Davidson River campground in Brevard.

Campground and restrooms are well maintained. Peaceful, yet close to towns such as Cherokee and Gatlinburg.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay during the Memorial Day Weekend, I just wished the weather was less wet.
The staff was very helpful, the firewood sales was priced well, and did I mention the peace and quiet?

Nice campground and the smokies are amazing, but there were a few things that were unpleasant:
1. The sites are very close together
2. The bathrooms have NO HANDSOAP
3. For $30/night, a shower would be nice
