What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

Hard to figure out if the campground was accesible with closed area in the Smoky mountains, but really nice campsites between the trees and lots of people making fires at their sites.

Beautiful location and bathrooms were kept clean, neighbors weren’t too close or too noisy. Park staff were friendly and helpful. It is ridiculous that registered campers also have to pay the $5 per day parking fee anywhere outside the campground.

The sites by the river will get to fall asleep to the sound of some rapids. Had a beautiful elk encounter while cooking breakfast and chose to distance myself. Pretty site!

Sites are all right next to each other so you won’t have a ton of privacy, but the bathrooms are nice, love the stream nearby that provides white noise all night
