Beautiful campground with a small river running through it. Hiking trails in many areas in and around the campground. Peaceful, clean, nice facilities, great staff! Go there often even though we only live 15 mi away. Last visit about 40 elk cows and calf’s wandered by 15 ft from our site. Talk about up close and personal with the locals.

We love Smokemont. Site A007
This was a strange stay. The rangers were not around very much.
Smokemont does have a mouse problem. We picked up two when we were there a couple of months ago and finally caught them, in humane traps, while at Elkmont. Then we ended up with another one this trip but, fortunately, caught this one the morning we left. I don’t like rodents of any kind in the motorhome!

we always love camping in Smokemont, the bathrooms flush toilets are always clean, mostly level campsites & a river runs through it.
