What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

We loved our time at Smokemont. The campground was clean and well maintained, including the restrooms. You could hear the creek from most of the sites which made for a peaceful sleep. The staff were friendly and very helpful when we wanted to change our site. If you're tent camping I would recommend the A, B or C loop. The D look is pull through and there were some large RVs there. Would definitely go back again.

We only stayed one night at Smokemont, and barely a night at that as we came in late. The location of the campground is great for further exploration, but if we went again we would want site A1 for more elbow room. ALL the sites are right on each other, and we have a large family. The hiking was great and we hope to return and do more of the trails! The bathroom was a wreck when we arrived. There was standing water on the floor, all over the sink, and even the walls. Never did a certain why, but next day it was cleaned and mostly dry.
We loved the Smokemont church being right there to visit. The grounds have to be glorious in the fall. Knowing it was closed due to Helene, I hope it didn’t see too much damage. Great base camp, although very crowded potentially.

Loved the trails and the creek. The swimming hole by the bridge when you drive in is perfect for a rinse of since no showers here. And the stables an awesome experience for our kids. Great trail ride and wagon ride. We’d love to go back!

We truly loved our trip to your campsites. The only thing that could have made it better, is please change the rule about turning the generators off. We would love be to have our generator on all night.

Mostly very nice camoground. Good separation of generators from tent camping area.
The loud leaf blowing on Sunday and Monday morning was most not so peaceful.
To their credit, the staff -all off them at this campground are the best-nicest and most helpful of all the Smokies campgrounds. 5++ stars for them.
