What Guests Are Saying
Jackrabbit Mountain is a beautiful campground with scenic lake views and well-maintained hiking and biking trails. Many campers appreciate the clean bathrooms and spacious, private campsites, making it a great spot for families and nature enthusiasts. While some facilities could use improvement, such as the bathroom hooks and the absence of firewood for sale, the overall experience remains positive, with friendly hosts and a peaceful atmosphere.

Jackrabbit Campground is amazing! However, there is zero privacy between this particular site and the neighbors' site, and our neighbors bickered non-stop. We did end up filing a complaint with the campground hosts after a sleepless night due to their bickering.
Site A15 and A13 are great for groups who want more space, but beware if you are single campers as there is not a single tree or buffer between these two sites.

We stayed in loop C for over a week and had a wonderful time. Beautiful views, lovely nature, great places to walk and nice to just hang at your campsite. Warm showers were a nice plus! The hosts were great and made us feel at home while we were there.

The campsite is in a beautiful location right on the lake. End of October was a great time to come, as the fall colors were really pretty. The spot was nice and had what we needed. The access to the mountain bike trails was great too. I definitely plan to come camp here again!

JRB is like an old friend: comforting, familiar, new every morning and in whose company we desire to be in. Discussions of bath houses, campsite maintenance, boat launch amenities and the rest are just window dressing. Thanks to all of the people at JRM who obviously work very hard at keeping it a special place.

Great to see the end of the season at JR. Best sites right on the lake and so quiet. Managers are great!
Still wish that A loop would remain open through the end of the season even if it meant closing C loop. There seems to be more RV campers than tent campers in October and A&B loops are best suited for RVs while still being great for tenters too.

Absolutely love the campground. Beautiful scenery. But if you want the best sites you will have to do it way in advance but it is totally worth it!

What a wonderful campground to visit during the fall season in the north GA and NC mountains.

We don't spend much time in or around Lake Chatuge when we camp at Jackrabbit Mountain, but I can say that the campsite itself is very nice. We are tent campers and the tent pads are well maintained at most of the sites. The shoreside sites are the best in my opinion because they give you an amazing sunset view over the lake. It might be convenient to choose sites close to the bathrooms and showers, but I would not recommend not doing that if you are a light sleeper because the lights used to illuminate the building are like a lighthouse beacon.

Great, quiet campground. There are no water, electrical, or sewage hookups, but there is water available and a dump station. Just need to mind your battery or have a generator. Our site was very shaded by trees so solar didn’t do much. Great stay though!
