What Guests Are Saying
Jackrabbit Mountain is a beautiful campground with scenic lake views and well-maintained hiking and biking trails. Many campers appreciate the clean bathrooms and spacious, private campsites, making it a great spot for families and nature enthusiasts. While some facilities could use improvement, such as the bathroom hooks and the absence of firewood for sale, the overall experience remains positive, with friendly hosts and a peaceful atmosphere.

New mountain bike trails are great. Original trails are well maintained and fun.
Recreation.gov originally reserved me a site in a section that was closed for the weekend I was going to be there. This caused quite a bit of panic as I got the last site available in the open area on a very busy weekend.
Really no excuse for reserving sites in a closed section.
Other than tent campers over crowding their sites with vehicles and tents off the pads it was great.

Nice bathroom facilities and kept very clean. 1 or 2 door locks were broken and could cause a privacy issue. Very quiet and still in the morning. The lake is beautiful.

Great campground. We are going to make this a yearly camping destination. Nice access to hiking and biking trails and the lake. Camp host was great too and provided good knowledge of area and access to firewood. Hiawassee, GA is about 10-12 minutes away so there is easy access to grocery store and other essentials. Highly Recommended.

Jackrabbit Campground is exceptional. Bathrooms are cleaned very thoroughly M,W & F. Host and Hostess are very friendly and present. The lake is quiet near the campground and great for paddling. Also hiking trails are accessible right from the campground or a 1 mile drive to the mountain bike / hiking trails.
Our only request would be for A loop to remain open through the end of the season. If a loop needs to be shut down, C loop would be one one to close.

My husband and I stayed in three different campsites for two weeks here. Our favorite was 13, but we’d also recommend 12 (as solo couple) or also booking 13 & 14 as a family or large group. The hikes were beautiful and plenty of downed trees for firewood. Ingles is only 15 mins away and there’s a cute craft brewery in downtown Hayesville that serves delicious food. We saw a lot of kayakers, fishing, and bikers who were having a blast as well. The weekends are busy, so be prepared!!

NO trash cans throughout the camp,
One shower was disfunctional and was NOT signed to inform campers, even after notified,
Other shower was very nice, perfect temperature and clean,
Sites are carefully laid out, very well,
Host did not greet, check us out or post names on the campsite sticks,
A very nice campground, overall, I will return with my 16' travel trailer
