What Guests Are Saying
Jackrabbit Mountain is a beautiful campground with scenic lake views and well-maintained hiking and biking trails. Many campers appreciate the clean bathrooms and spacious, private campsites, making it a great spot for families and nature enthusiasts. While some facilities could use improvement, such as the bathroom hooks and the absence of firewood for sale, the overall experience remains positive, with friendly hosts and a peaceful atmosphere.

Jackrabbit Campground is one of the very few campgrounds where there is no traffic noise. The campground was full over the weekend but it was very quiet and peaceful. Make reservations ahead of time if you want a site on the water.

We had a beautiful campsite right on the lake. The bathhouse was clean. The drinking water source was close hy, easily accessible. I like that showers and toilet\sink areas are all individual - probably not a bad thing in the time of covid.

Very peaceful and quiet during week. Bathhouse and potable water access close by sites. Lovely hikes nearby.

We loved our lakeside campsite! The lake was lovely, clear and temperate. The vistas were fantastic and we look forward to camping here again. We went from a Monday through a Wednesday in late September and the campground was not overly populated. There are ample facilities and some access to power, just not directly at most campsites. Water is available everywhere, just not hookups. We used a 17' tent. The campsite we used was 12 A and it was really wonderful for lake access. We had a fire ring with a cooking grate and noticed a similar setup at every campsite we saw.
There are three loops of sites with lake views and lake access everywhere. Some sites are on a hillside, making for a wonderful vista in and of itself. Very close to grocery and convivence shopping. There are a few trails and lake access activities nearby.
If you are looking for privacy, select your campsite very carefully. Many of these sites are very close to each other with very little cover or vegetation separation. When the campground is sparsely attended this wont be an issue, so you may want to carefully consider the time of year you plan your trip. If you are looking for a campground where you can link up with multiple parties in your travel group across several campsites, then this place is ideal no matter the time of year!

Let me start off by saying that the views of the lake and the lake access are spectacular.
If you are looking for a family environment that is good for kids and/or people wanting a nice, peaceful and relaxing time, this is NOT the place to go. If you are looking to party and not get any sleep at night, this is definitely the place to go. The campground is very clear that “quiet hours” are 10pm-7am but this is most definitely not enforced. We tried speaking to the campground hosts and they said there was nothing they could do. We spent the early morning (1-2am) asking wasted people to keep it down so we could sleep. That was the first night. The second night we were kept up until 4am. Needless to say we will never return to this campground. Such a shame because it is a gorgeous area.
