What Guests Are Saying
Jackrabbit Mountain is a beautiful campground with scenic lake views and well-maintained hiking and biking trails. Many campers appreciate the clean bathrooms and spacious, private campsites, making it a great spot for families and nature enthusiasts. While some facilities could use improvement, such as the bathroom hooks and the absence of firewood for sale, the overall experience remains positive, with friendly hosts and a peaceful atmosphere.

This site was in loop C, and we stayed during a holiday weekend. Whenever the campground is full, the bathrooms and showers in this loop are insufficient to meet the demand, and we ended up waiting in line to use the facilities or biked to loop B to avoid the wait. All toilets and showers each have their own door, which was really nice. There are only two toilets and two showers in loop C, while there are 8 toilets and 8 showers in loop B. The tent pad for this site was 5 feet from the tent pad for site 82, which is nice if you know each other, but awkward if you don’t, or don’t want to make friends. The driveway was one of the few in loop C that will accommodate a short trailer, and there are trees between the driveway and road, unlike most In the loop in which you are just pulling over to the side of the road.
As for the activities, we biked, hiked, and kayaked, and really appreciated the connector trail from the campground to the bike trails. There are also two nice hiker only loop trails near the boat ramp. Plenty of shoreline to launch kayaks, but in loop C, you may have to carry them as much as 50 feet to the water’s edge. We really enjoyed our time here with our two boys, ages 11 and 13. We plan to come back, but will plan ahead to get a site on the outside of loop A or B. For a last minute booking, we couldn’t have asked for a better getaway.

The campsite was amazing. However the cleanliness of the bathrooms left a lot to be desired. They were not kept up we were there for 3 Days and they were dirty the entire time. Also some of the bathrooms were locked for the 1st 2 days because they were out of order but they didn't put an out of order sign so you just kept going hoping no one was using them. They need new camp hosts.

Loved the campsite #43, under the trees, level, and just across from the water. Came to MTB and we could bike there on a connector trail from the campground, as well as to the swim beach and boat ramp. Lovely ride across that pasture. Sweet little fishing pier.

Very nice location. If you have a pet there isn't much to do. Restrooms have no hand soap or sanitizer dispensers but nice electric hand driers which seems odd especially now. There is no control over drive thru traffic.

This is a fantastic campground. The camp host is extremely helpful and friendly. The sites are fairly private, the bathhouses were really clean, and the lake is beautiful. The mountain bike trails at Jackrabbit Mountain are great for all skill levels. Our 7 and 10 year old loved it and my husband thought they were fun as well. We have already booked another stay for September. There are no hook-ups in the campground so if you’re in a camper just be prepared. This is one of our favorite campgrounds now in the Carolinas now.

I love this camping area, and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is b/c there were some very loud folks until almost 2AM one night, and the host didn't come by to check. And the next morning there were loud ladies up and at em at 6:30, not close to me but sounded like they were on top of me. I would recommend putting up signs reminding people of quiet times and to be considerate of those nearby, especially the ones in tents.
