What Guests Are Saying
Jackrabbit Mountain is a beautiful campground with scenic lake views and well-maintained hiking and biking trails. Many campers appreciate the clean bathrooms and spacious, private campsites, making it a great spot for families and nature enthusiasts. While some facilities could use improvement, such as the bathroom hooks and the absence of firewood for sale, the overall experience remains positive, with friendly hosts and a peaceful atmosphere.

Campsite 64 is on the water but has lots of rocks and a huge tree fell into the water which takes up where you’d swim. Campsite 66 was rude and would not allow my children to swim even though we didn’t have much of an area for ourselves due to the tree. Otherwise beautiful place to camp.

Could have been epic. New boat, two couples, four days. A head's up on a few things would have been nice before we drove 5 hours to get there. Boating? Be careful, the lake's real low this time of year. Fishing? Oh, sorry, all the tournaments last month depleted the lake. Campsite? Sorry, only some of the sites have been renovated, not yours. Watch your step, the steps down were crumbling so we just ripped most of them out. We survived, but lack of updates / info on website spoiled what could have been great.

Overall we had a fantastic stay at Jackrabbit. We camped in Loop C with a travel trailer. Site was clean and we had views, plenty of shade and a short walk to the lake. Leaves were in peak color. The only negative was that the fire ring and the picnic table at the site were on the opposite side of the camper door and awning so it was a little inconvenient. Seems like they could have put the trailer pad where the table and ring were and visa verse. Most RV sites are on loops A and B with loop C mostly tent pads.Great trails for mountain biking and easy access with the connector trail from the campground. We had a great trip and will be returning next year but with our trailer looking for a site in loop B.

There was only one site still available when we made reservations, so I was nervous that there was something wrong with the site. I was wrong, it was perfect! The leaves were changing, which is what we had hoped for. We only made it through one night due to rain and a poorly designed tent, and I was so sad because the first night was great. We hiked the main loop of the hiking trails and it was beautiful with lots of different trees to identify. Definitely would go back and try to reserve a site along the water (and bring our tents that don't leak!). There was a group of loud, drunk people at a campsite, and a group of people at the trailhead using language not appropriate for my kids to be hearing, but there'll be stupid people no matter where you go, and I can't fault the campgrounds for that.
