What Guests Are Saying
Lost Lake Resort and Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with scenic lake views, spacious campsites, and a friendly atmosphere. Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained grounds, good fishing, and nearby hiking trails, as well as the convenience of on-site amenities like a store and boat rentals. However, the campground can be busy, especially on weekends, leading to noise and crowding issues, and some facilities, like bathrooms, may need more attention. Overall, it's a cherished spot for many returning campers.

Strange weather this year... when we arrived, the campground plowed snow from one tent pad on to the other. So half our campsite was buried in five feet of snow. We were really only able to accommodate two tents instead of three or four. We had to go find another campsite for our friends. While if the weather cooperated, I'm sure this campground would have been spectacular. Also, inflation has really hit campgrounds as well. What use to be $5 for a bundle of wood is now $9 and $15/day per car if you have more than one.

One of the nicest campgrounds we have ever been to. Nice time of year to go as it is still pretty quiet. Campground is immaculate. Sites are big and nicely private. The camp host was very nice and helpful. Great hikes, gorgeous lake. Lots to do. Loved it here!

Always a lovely time coming here. Definitely not for a remote experience, as it is a large complex and usually has a lot of people because of the facilities. Suggest bringing kayaks and SUPs if you have it, that is definitely the best part of staying here.

What a great area! Wonderful campsites! At Lost Lake, I Lost my dog. She bolted from my site. I drove down to the employee area at the general store...Jeff took my information and my dog Molly's description. I returned to my site and stared at the ground, literally, wondering what to do. A little while later a Utility Cart (UTV) approached and came to my site. It was Jeff!! He said I have something for you...it was Molly curled up docile in the front passenger seat. (Note: Molly does not sit still in any traveling vehicle, she knew something wasn't right...where was she being taken?) I couldn't believe it, I almost cried. Jeff radioed back "black dog returned to owner" and there was a woman's voice on the other end yelling "yeahhhhhhhhh". Thanks to all the staff at Lost Lake, I'm eternally grateful!

Spent 5 nights here, Monday-friday on the first week of October. Tues-thurs we had the whole a loop to ourselves, which was fantastic. The sites are spacious and offer privacy, although some are a little small. Must do the butte hike, very steep but worth it. We loved it here

I would have rated this a 5 ( due to the beauty of the area) but for the very limited space available to launch a kayak or other boat when several others are there as well. The parking near the public boat launch is also very limited with only 5 or 6 spaces there. There is another spot along the shore that would be ideal but it has evidently been sold to private interests and they forbid anyone to use the same area as the boat rentals. The store that also handles the camp site permits also would not let anyone use that spot even for those who are paying to camp in the park.
The other item is that this is a National Forest campground and is the most expensive that I have ever come across being almost double of the most expensive I have ever used. The rates run, for an RV space without any hookups, as much as most state parks run with full hookups. Thinking back I should have rated this as no more than a three.

Excellent campsites and beautiful location. The hike around the lake is worth the time. It would be nice if the resort had a decent restaurant, but that is not why we go camping anyway. Wasn't crowded mid-September, but rain was forecast for the day we arrived so that may have kept a few campers away. Loved the boardwalk paths which help to protect the tree roots.
