What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

Camp ground was clean, the RR was well stocked and didn’t smell too bad. We were really close to the Blue Hole which was amazing. The ground was flat and not much gravel which made sleeping easy. The ground is a bit hard, broke 2 tent stakes.. We didn’t have a view at our camp site but the river was just behind us. Only downside is you have to wait to buy firewood. They open 5-7 pm. 1 bundle of wood lasted us about an hour or so.. we ended up going back and buying 3 more bundles for our 1 night stay (we used the last bundle in the morning as it was cold). The trash bin wasn’t far nor was the RR. Loved our stay.

Wonderful campground near Rainier and Packwood with significant historical plaques. Two plaques honoring founders of Taxol and establishment of Gifford Pinchot are a short walk within the campground. A wonderful river runs through the campground - but water shoes are necessary for all the rocks. Very quiet for sleeping hours. One tree in our campsite was 8 ft diameter. We’ll be back! Thank you GF - Our fav national forest!

If I could wouldn't place a star. Host never greeted, and when approached for questions the Male host seemed very nice and understanding my parents, siblings and I which happen to live all together. We're not allowed to be in the same site planning our hike or our hikes to the Blue Pool because female host was bothered that we all were standing in my site forgot to mention we all have our own sites 14,16,17 and 18 in the C loop. She arrived very rudely pointing fingers yelling very aggressively agitated threatening to call the sheriff's department if we didn't disperse. What ever that meant. Not pleasant at all. Not coming back AT ALL! First time in my life that I felt this way. Packed and left on our 1st day of camping. Really uncomfortable. Not my first time I camp either. Beautiful place. Didn't even explored which was the saddest part.
